Denny’s Kruk Report - May 26th Edition

Denny’s is teaming up with ESPN to sponsor Wednesday Night Baseball all season long. Denny’s is sponsoring “K Zone” and “Value Player” features during ESPN’s Wednesday Night Baseball and the “Touch ‘Em All” and “Grand Slam Moment” elements during Baseball Tonight. Denny’s is also partnering with All-Star and Baseball Tonight analyst John Kruk to blog on baseball, food and fans in his weekly Denny’s Kruk Report. It’s all baseball this season for the company whose Grand Slam meals, named for the famous baseball play, are a core guest favorite year after year.

Each week we talk to ESPN baseball expert and Denny’s Fan John Kruk to get his take on the week’s games. Submit your own questions for John at facebook.com/dennys and enjoy this week’s edition below!

May 26th:
Francis Kurfuerst: What was the most Grand Slam breakfasts you consumed in one sitting?
Francis, when I go to Denny’s for breakfast I try not to over-do it and make it an eating competition so I normally just get the grand slam breakfast and enjoy that but someday soon I will wonder how many I can eat and I will let you know!!!

Brandon Thomas Wright: Will the Phillies win the World Series?
Brandon, so much can happen between now and then, what with trades and injuries, but if the playoffs started today I would have to say no because of pitching issues in rotation and bull pen. Also their offense has been wildly inconsistent and I think that Tampa and the Yankees are better. We will see!!!

John Jeide: What did you think of the uniform you had when you played with the Padres?
Well John, I liked the home uniforms. Luckily I didn’t have to wear those awful brown tops, but our road uniforms the brown with the brown pin stripes left a lot to be desired!!!

Watch out each week for an exclusive new Kruk report!

Norma Jean’s 3a.m. Adventures in Pittsburgh with The Chariot

enter image description here

Have you ever wondered exactly what Norma Jean orders when they hit Denny’s?  Wonder no longer!  The guys sent us over a detailed review of their night out after their show in Pittsburgh this week. Check it out below, and send us any photos you have from the night to !

Probably one of the most hospitable restaurants we’ve ever been in on Mcknights Rd. in Pittsburgh. Great staff! We did a double team on this sucker with The Chariot. I ordered the Texican Burger this time. I heard from Steven (The Chariot) that it was great. Correct… it was great! I also had a shake and tried some of Josh’s (The Chariot) Brownie desert. SO good! Jake said his Cheeseburger might have weighed 3 pounds.

Hung out extra long with some cool people that were there from the show, til almost 3am. Talked about dinosaurs, beard competitions, and tried to figure out peskatarianism. It was a great time overall.

What we ordered:
Cory Brandan: Texican Burger
Chris Raines: The Super Bird
Scottie Henry: Chicken Fingers
Chris Day: Steak and Eggs
Jake Shultz: Double Cheeseburger

Norma Jean’s Denver Diary

enter image description here

Last week, our friends Norma Jean took over Denver to play a show on their Explosions Tour and host an Allnighter after party at Denny’s.  The guys were kind enough to send us some of their personal pictures from the night along with a note for fans. Check it all out below and check back soon for more updates!

On this Denny’s adventure, we were in Denver… we got there as soon as we could, after the show, as we were all pretty much starving. The were already some fans hanging out and we were seated in the back. The kids didn’t hesitate at all and came over and sat right at our table and around us. All good people. Some people just stopped in for a quick pic or something and left. The Chariot showed up and came over as well. It was such a fun time and for this Denny’s trip, it was actually very relaxing. The weather out here is freezing and it was nice to be inside and warm, plus the drives on this tour have been insane and long so getting some time to relax was amazing.

We endured some great questions from the fans, took some photos and ate a lot of food. I’m pretty sure at least 5 of us ordered the Rascal Flatts menu item. Seriously… and that thing is crazy good (even if you’re not drunk).  Thanks to all the fans that came out, it was nice to meet you guys and we’ll see you next time. – Cory Brandan / Norma Jean
