Punk, power-pop, hard rock. It’s music that captures youth, rebellion and young lust with simple chords and urgent lyrics.
After releasing its first album, ALLISON toured the Americas and happily went toe-to-toe with English-language rock bands at such prestigious venues as the SXSW Music Festival in Austin and the Vans Warped Tour. They were there to be the hardest-rocking band in any language, and they succeeded. Far from being a producer’s creation, ALLISON is a band that was formed by a couple of high school friends and spent several years honing its material in Mexico City’s underground scene.
After keeping a low profile during late 2007 and early 2008, ALLISON re-emerged for the 2008 SXSW – its second year there – to introduce its new power-pop sound to music-industry professionals and critics. After 18 months of touring and performing in front of ever-larger crowds, ALLISON bids farewell to its magical 2006-07 with a version 2.0 of its debut album that includes six cover songs, plus a DVD with the band’s music videos, a cover of Juan Gabriel’s “Amor Eterno,” and a mini-documentary of the band’s history.
With MEMORAMA, ALLISON explores the many creative possibilities of power pop, while rocking harder than ever.
